Without You I'm A Better Man

Without You I'm A Better Man
by Khari D. Hawke

Oh no, I've come to a realization

I can go elsewhere to get appreciation

which is great 'cause there's no form of compensation

to make up for your discrimination

so for lack of a better interpretation

I'm calling for an obliteration

of this relationship

that to shreds you love to rip

and broken like a fragile hip

then proceed to cruelly dip

into the depths of failure like a ship

that went to sea ill-equip

just like your bloated

twice demoted

overly exploited

eternally outvoted

triple coated

just to hide your sadly noted

failure of a life

that's brought nothing but strife

and cut my dreams just like a knife

you swore you'd be the perfect wife

but you only brought me down times five

by pulling me in and proceeding to siph'

out of me the aspiration

nearly unbreakable motivation

what was once immune to laceration

until you harvested me like a southern plantation

and stole every single artistic creation

now they might as well be in the ocean

if only I sad some sort of potion

to set the clocks reverse in motion

cleanse all that time like dry skin with lotion

and maybe I’m giving off the notion

that I just might be blowing this out of proportion

but of exaggeration I’m not a fan

overexertion of my words is not my plan

I want to show you no matter how you scan

I'm stronger now than any Spartan

and this may hit you harder than a van

but without you, I'm a better man
